====== Ice Belt ======

An //Ice Belt// is a belt of icy fragments than orbits well beyond the snow line of a star. The typical ice belt was probably formed from the fragmentation of a larger planetary body, which has spread itself out around its orbit, much in the same way as an [[asteroidbelt]].

The second type is a //Kuiper Belt// style of belt, which was not formed from a single object, but has instead formed from independent objects that failed to come together into a single planetary body in the first place.

The latter type tend to be further out, and much less dense than standard ice or asteroid belts. Their huge volume though often results in them being far more massive than either of the other types.
