The Docklands of Tannos are where most people come into the city, and they show off the city as most people imagine it. The Docklands are bustling with activity pretty much throughout the day and night, whether it is loading or unloading ships, moving goods between warehouses or to the market, or the seedier side of life in taverns, side alleys and cheap tenant blocks that make up the bulk of the district.

About a fifth of the population lives in the Docklands. Though much of the region is taken up with warehouses, small shops, taverns and other establishments of ill-repute, there are a large number of blocks of four to five story apartment buildings, home to poor families who work along the docks.

The warehouses are owned by several mercantile companies, which are often competing with each other for trade and information. It is an open secret that not everything they get up to is entirely legal, but they tend to use outside 'contractors' for a lot of this work to provide them a level of deniability.
