The village of Ingleton was a prospering village of about 90 people, just north of High Benthem, and is near where the River Doe and River Twiss meet to form the River Greta. It has a single church, which is St Mary's. The local lord is Baron Malcolm who dwells in a fortified manor house atop a nearby hill.

The day to day affairs of the village are managed by the local Reeve, who is Justin, an ageing farmer who has served the lord for many years. As for many villages, there is a small blacksmith and a mill. The fields are farmed in rotation, with one field left fallow each year.

For the last few years the village has been plagued by a curse, possibly of infernal origin.
