The message that was sent to the Unrestricted Retaliation was roughly as follows:

Recommend a rendezvous above Korpal to discuss negotiations. There is a desire to trade offworld transport with access to technology and information. Contact desires some visibility of Imperium's capability.

Red globe around planet, out to an altitude of about 500km. Will stop sunlight reaching the planet, and energy leaving the planet will be absorbed by the globe. Excess energy will be radiated outwards into space, for a net loss of energy.

Given black globe stats, requires a black globe generator about 60km on a side.

The globe is not perfect, and sometimes dumps the energy onto the planet's surface over areas 100's of km across, sometimes larger. It is capturing energy from the sun, so is gradually absorbing energy and randomly dumping it. Dumping lasts a fraction of second, but can dump GWs per square metre.

The Unrestricted Retaliation is rapidly fleeing to a much higher solar orbit, and has sent X-boats for aid. Expect a response in about 15-18 days.

Zeppilin has contra-grav and other advanced stuff. Not as fast as the shuttle however.

Key is setup to locate the temple, and contains a virus for disabling it. It doesn't provide any Psi protection however.

Emperor will be travelling with at least his advisor Yeng Xow and personal guard. What they know, is that the key was given to the (unborn at the time, he was born on the trip back) First Emperor as a weapon to use against the darkness if it were to rise again. The defences were too strong to wipe out then, but possibly the walls will have crumbled since then, and the virus it contains may have evolved to a level where it can defeat them.

These are egg shaped devices, pretty much invulnerable to everything. Count as vehicles, soak 100 size 0. One level of damage is enough to shatter them however. Breaking one shatters a thin shell into dust, with nothing inside.

To activate, submerge in salt water for several seconds. The effect depends on the egg.

• Releases a replicating nano swarm which splits hydrogen and oxygen from the water. Eventually, all water on the world will be consumed and the atmosphere ignited. Nano machines die once there is no more water.
• A small crystal which absorbs all energy. Will eventually freeze the world.
• A replicating nano plague which infects all organic matter on the planet, shredding it. The plague will go airborn, and wipe out all life in 3-6 months.
• A small crystal which radiates huge quantities of neutrinos over the course of about an hour. All life within 100,000km will be fried, and beyond that seriously hurt.
