Mission profile:

Over the past few years there has been an increase in the collaboration between criminal units operating in the Reft Sector, especially in the Moibin and Arcant sub sectors. There appears to be someone behind this, since these organisations have become more organised, better trained and better equipped in quite a short space of time. As was noted with the Claws of Axos, some seem to be setting their sights further up the food chain, possibly trying to influence the Imperial Bureaucracy.

The Imperial Navy is stretched thin, and at least some information is being leaked. For this reason, it is felt that a group operating outside of the chain of command may have a better chance of success at infiltrating these groups and finding out where the organisation is coming from.

Points of note:

• The company Mueller Instrument Engineering is a suspected front for the Silver Panthers, and has recently commissioned long range external jump tanks from the construction facilities at Stock Point 3.
• The CLM have recently obtained some (2-3) J4 capable Corsair cruisers, though it is unknown where they came from, or how they obtained the funding. This greatly extends the CLM's range and capabilities, and makes them much harder to keep in check. The most likely source is actually Sirim, down in the Verge Sector, however the illegal operations here have recently been crushed by Imperial intervention (5 years ago).

• There appears to be collaboration between criminal organisations in the region, possibly masterminded by someone in the Rift. Funds and hardware seems to be moving both directions.
• Illegal VR technology, illegal drugs, weapons and space craft.
• The Gundamoor Goons in particular seem to have increased in capability over the last year.
• Imperial resources are stretched thin, and it is difficult to track down every lead possible.

Need to find who is behind things, and put a stop to it.

Put in contact with Ardiguusi Shidumlishep, captain of the Far Trader Suuma Nikijajir (named for an ex-girlfriend). He is a shady dealer who is sometimes used by the Navy for aiding and abetting black work. However, he isn't entirely trustworthy, so first mission is to get rid of him and do a runner with his ship. Fake registry and cash will be available at a determined destination.

The intial destination of the group will be the Naval base at Joutect. From here, they will be taken in the Suuma Nikijajir to Jeandrent. It is suggested instead that they take the ship to Elphintrax, taking control of the ship before it jumps. They are not expected at Jeandrent, so it will be several weeks before they are missed.

There is nobody at Elphintrax who will willingly help them, however there are those who will help for a cost. The world governments fund various privateer groups for their own end, and these groups operate out of the Jovian moons. They have arms, ships and information. This is also thought to be the base of the CLM, though details on where exactly are sketchy.

Company which fronts certain black operations performed by Imperium, operates in Reft and nearby sectors. Officially, it rents out space in starports, simplifying the process of people hiring it at short notice and on standard terms. Can be found at many C class starports, and nearly all B and A starports. Never available if there is an Imperial navy base present.
