The FSE are one of the four major powers of human space. They consist of the old nation states of Western Europe, without the UK or Germany. Their technology capability is similar to that of the NSL, but they have greater resources but also a much larger volume of space to protect and control, so their most advanced ships are spread much thinner.

FSE fleet doctrine concentrates on fast, manoeuvrable ships, and the bulk of their fleet has a thrust of 6. All FSE fighters are fast, in addition to any other abilities that they may have. Like the NAC, the FSE relies heavily on fighters for offense and defense, and their carriers are amongst the largest in Known Space. The FSE are also heavy users of salvo missiles, and most of their ships of cruiser class or above carry several.
