Matilda is an old woman who lives in a small cottage up on the Yorkshire Dales. She is known to the folk in those parts as a crazy old woman who knows lots of strange lore, and can provide healing and advice to women. She does like to be left alone however, and is generally grouchy with anyone who visits.
She is capable of fending for herself, and grows her own food for the most part, trading for anything else with the local farms.
She is a witch, allied with the Witches of Lychira.
