Tlazolteotl 1514

Tlazolteotl is technically a frozen desert world since it has no surface water and sub-zero temperatures, but few consider it such. It has large amounts of liquid water available, but it is all locked up in biomass. Giant, thick, trees cover much of the surface, with a sponge-like interior and wide leaves sprouting from the top. They suck up water from the ground, where it mixes with salts and anti-freeze which lowers the freezing point so that the water remains liquid.

There are regions of high radiation, and ruined buildings amongst the forests and jungles. There is still a population of 4 billion, but it has reverted to a low technology
