There's little information on how much food and water supplies crew get through whilst aboard a ship.

According to NASA, 4 crew on a 3 year trip to Mars would need in the order of 10t of food. Which actually isn't that much. That's less than one displacement tonne of cargo (assuming a density of 1, though 1.5 might be a more accurate value).

So, including packaging, we're looking at 10 person-years per dT of cargo space.
